At our Frames and Stretchers Custom Framing and Canvas Stretching Studio in Lower East Side, New York City, we were very grateful to receive the opportunity to custom frame 24 artworks by the legendary American portrait photographer Bill Bernstein.

These gorgeous black and white photographs archiving arts, queer culture, and nightlife in New York City in the 80s are given the best conservation framing to preserve them for museum-grade art collector quality.

We floated each photograph on museum board using a hidden series of hinges made from Japanese paper and rice paste. For small or large artworks, this reversible mounting method allows for damage-free mounting should the owner wish to change the style of framing in the future, the artwork will be protected.

We hinged each artwork by hand then joined and sealed the frames with the best plexiglass glazing to allow for 99% UV Protection and Anti Reflective benefits. This will aid in protecting the artwork from fading or damage over time as a result of exposure to light sources.

Once we had all 24 artworks framed and packed with expert precision and care, we created several custom-fitted wooden art crates for the artwork to be shipped south to TW Fine Art for Bill Bernstein's opening exhibition.
