Miguel Trelles in the Frames and Stretchers studio with his work for the "Convivio" exhibition.
We're excited to share that one of our founding partner artists Miguel Trelles is gearing up for a busy Fall season with a number of upcoming exhibitions in Connecticut and New York. If you're in the area, we invite you to check out the following events:
October 9 – November 1, 2018
“Chino-Latino: Barbarian Brush”
Central Connecticut State University
The CCSU Art Galleries, 2nd floor of the Samuel S. T. Chen Fine Arts Center (Maloney Hall) at the corner of Stanley Street (Rte. 71) Ella Grasso Boulevard.
Opening: October 15, 1:30 – 3:00 p.m.
This exhibition features a group of Miguel's paintings and drawings selected by New Haven gallerist Gabriel Da Silva and Spanish Professor Dr. Lourdes Casas. The work reflects a 10 year production span in which Trelles has continued to address the Chinese painting tradition, enriching it with Mesoamerican elements. On October 15 he will be giving a lecture about his work at the S.T. Chen Fine Arts Building at CCSU.

"Chino-Latino: Zen con Son”.
Da Silva Gallery
899 Whalley Avenue
New Haven, CT 06515
Opening: Saturday, November 10, 6 – 8 p.m.
After taking Miguel Trelles' work to Art Fair Málaga (2017), DaSilva Gallery now complements the CCSU "Barbarian Brush" exhibition by presenting Trelles'
2017/2018 Chino-Latino paintings. In "Zen con Son" Mesoamerican figurative elements emerge from the austere but vibrant serenity Trelles has crafted out of Chinese dynastic sources.
October 20 - November 16, 2018
"Convivio; Jews, Hispanics and the Comics"
Repair the World
808 Nostrand Avenue
Brooklyn, NY. 11216
Opening Saturday, October 20, 6-9 pm
In celebration of National Hispanic Heritage Month, the exhibition Convivio (Spanish for “living together,” “coexisting”) features Hispanic and/or Jewish creators who contradict existing stereotypes and combat mainstream cultural norms and prejudicial constraints.
